Facets of Identity

Exploring the value I bring to my community

Some Professional Reading

I had purchased this book two years ago while attending the National Assocation of Independent Schools annual People of Color Conference. (I only know the time of purchase because I tucked the receipt inside the book and use it as a bookmark). Among all the other books on display, this one caught my eye. That, and I promised myself I would only buy one book!

I had every intention to read this book right away when I returned home from the conference. My intention was distracted however by other events in my life competing for attention. You can relate.

Last month, I came across this book again while reorganizing the bookshelf. I spotted the orange spine and the faded receipt poking out from the top. I thought to myself, “Now I have time to read you and learn from you.
