I came across a book titled, The Start Up of You, written by Reid Hoffman and Ben Casnocha. The authors have provided some very valuable insights about navigating your journey as an entrepreneur. Check their site out!
One of the statements in the book that stands out to me right now in the transition I’m going through is,
Opportunities grow out of ongoing activities and ideas.
In recent weeks, I have experienced this firsthand as I reach out to different people I’ve developed relationships within various professional sectors who are willing to support me in growing as a facilitator and consultant. I am certainly grateful.
Leadership development is a passion of mine as well. I used to think that leadership meant climbing up the ranks of an organization and obtaining a formal title that distinguished you as supreme among all within the organization. Well I’m here to tell you that is FAR from the truth. Over the last six years, through various experiences, I have learned that leadership is really a habit you work at developing and continue to refine. One of my mentors that has been instrumental in this shift has been reading books and articles by Robin Sharma.
One of my favorite books is The Leader Who Had No Title. If you are on a personal journey or trying to define your sense of purpose, I highly recommend that you read this book!
At least check out his site.
